First Appointment
During the appointment Dr.Erkan Akilli performs your oral and x-ray examinations. Your smile design requests are discussed. Afterwards, your facial structure including your lips, cheeks, teeth (smile, jaw resting position, teeth size, teeth positions and their angulations) are examined to choose the best treatment plan. This treatment plan is explained to you in detail. The mock-up procedure which gives us an idea about how your new smile will seem in your mouth is explained. Measurements of your mouth will be taken to prepare for the mock-up procedure. Appointments are made within a week.
Second Appointment
During the mock-up appointment, Dr.Erkan Akilli and the dental technician will work together to evaluate the smile design. This appointment is made to examine the harmony between the teeth and the lips (how your teeth look when you are talking, in resting position and smiling). Tooth color is decided. Cutting and measuring procedures that are required for the lamina treatment are done. After this, temporary teeth are attached to your natural teeth for you to continue your social life until the next appointment. The next appointment is given for a week later when the actual laminate veneer application is done.
Third Appointment
During this appointment, the ceramic lamina that has been prepared according to our mock-up session is ready for a fitting session. Together with the patient, we rehearse and examine how the ceramic lamina looks in the patient’s mouth, check out the smile, and if the smile patient chose is achieved, the lamina is glued in the same session. The treatment length could be anywhere from 5 to 14 days. This procedure could be done in single tooth or the whole mouth (28 members). We can perform Smile Design procedures of our patients who come from abroad and have limited time in 3-4 days.
Final Appointment
After laminate applications, there must be a follow-up appointment after six months. During this appointment, we evaluate the gum health and mouth closing (occlusion). To be able to enjoy your aesthetic prosthesis, do not neglect to floss, brush and make your follow up appointments.
